In the UAE, “Eid Al Etihad” is the official name for the celebration of National Day, marking the historic moment on December 2, 1971, when the United Arab Emirates was founded through the unification of seven emirates. The name emphasises the theme of “Union” (Etihad), which is central to the country’s identity, symbolising heritage, unity, strength, and national pride.

Who is the responsible committee for the 53rd Eid Al Etihad?

The Committee for this year’s official Eid Al Etihad ceremony, the UAE’s national celebration commemorating the unification of the seven emirates, has been established under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Chairman, with Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice Chair. The Committee’s mission is to organise the official Eid Al Etihad celebration, with the goal of reinforcing and commemorating this significant occasion for everyone who calls the UAE home. Through various activities and special programmes held across the UAE, the celebration will reflect our collective pride and gratitude towards our nation.
